This felted, naive, wall art shows a field in high summer with poppies, daisies and buttercups in full bloom. There are also forget-me-nots and a few ragged robin hidden amongst the grasses. They are all growing beneath a beautiful, blue, summer sky.
To make this picture I first laid out woollen fibres and then needle felted them in to place. I added wool and silk yarns to give the impression of grasses and some silk fibres to make the sky gleam. I then wet felted to create a strong fabric that does not need to be framed. The finished piece is stretched on to an artists canvas and is ready to hang. As you can see from the second photograph, the picture continues around the side of the canvas and is secured at the back.

Frequently asked questions about SueForeyfibreart

I am often asked how to keep an unframed felt dust free. It is very simple all you need to do is take it outside occasionally and bang it againt your hand. Should anything get splashed on to your felt whilst it is hanging a damp cloth or sponge can be used with no adverse effects at all. Should you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
If you have a special place that you would like me to make a felt of I am happy to do so. In the past I have made felts of peoples houses, favourite walks and even a beach where someone was proposed to. Please contact me to discuss your wishes.
