Boo! Now is the hauntingly best time to snag the coolest, most original, most modern halloween throw. I have to brag because this quilt turned out so great! The front of the quilt is made with fabric from top designers. The center fabric is a burnt orange geometric design by Leere for Clothworks called Scribble Monsters ll. The top and bottom border fabric is called Rajasthan by Jinny Beyer for RJR Fabrics. It gives a mysterious, sophisticated halloween look with deep browns, oranges, greens and just a touch of dark purple.

There are 3 chevron stripes along the width of the front. They are made in my all time favorite halloween fabric design, The Ghasties, by Alexander Henry. The Ghastlies remind me of the Adams Family or the Muensters. Remember those shows? Kinda funny, kinda scary, weird. That's the Ghastlies. The particular Ghastlie design used in this quilt is "a ghastlie family reunion " in green, a grey green olivey background color. The fabric also has a bit of light pink which lightens the mood of the characters.

Behind each "Ghastlie" chevron is a solid black flannel chevron. By layering the black behind the print, it gives texture to the quilt. The black chevrons extend beyond the print and are clipped. This gives the effect of a black fringe all around the chevron stripe. The chevrons are appliqued with a raw edge that will fray the fabric to the sewn line.

The middle layer of the quilt is orange flannel, the back is a soft black flannel. The orangeflannel for the batting gives added color at the outer edges of the quilt. It also makes the quilt thin yet warm, an enchanting blend of beauty and utility.

This halloween rag quilt is given a rag quilt finish with the edges sewn and clipped all around the quilt. The quilt blanket was washed and dried to start the fraying.

The ghastlie chevron quilt measures approximately 41x57 inches.
I would recommend machine wash delicate cycle and air dry in the future to protect the flannel.

If you like the chevron pattern, there are more chevron quilts coming soon so stop by my shop for new arrivals. http://www.etsy.com/shop/marylandquilter?ref=si_shop
