I'm always hunting for gypsy floral fabrics and I came accross this one, I had to take it and I know that it will do a bohemian babydoll dress, russian style dress. I'm very lucky to have found a shop that is gradually offering me access to their vintage stock, This fabric is probably from the 70s looking at the maker label. Its a bright and bold floral pattern of contrasting blues and reds with green and splash of ivory flowers. It is a soft brushed cotton. The top of the dress is adorned with a wide embroidered roses ribbon, applied over a double layer of red silk ribbon. The hem of the dress is made of a double layer of red silk with a large crocheted lace tea dyed. This dress is lined with a soft poly gauze tea dyed, hemmed with my vintage wool, double layer for fullness, mint green and emerald green vintage pattern. The straps are made from a recycled hunter green wool (I used the less etchy side) with 5 buttons at the back.

This mini dress will make you feel like a little bohemian fairy.

I don't have a usual method to create my dresses, as I start as the opposite of most designers I know. I never draw, this is time lost for me. Fortunatly I don't have employees. This is the fabrics are other materials that inspired me first. I'm a addicted fabric collector and this take my whole house and even the garage. When I want to do something, I browse into my collection and sometimes I had this miracle happening, a famous fabric piece, and after that I start the hunt for matching pieces. While this, the road until the final creation is processing in my head and will continue while I'm sewing. I never let a dress with something I don't like. I prefer to wait until I found the perfect idea to finish it.

This would be awesome paired with a victorian jacket, a blouse and a pair of boots. Perfect to go out for festivals, for Christmas, for your birthday or any other special event you want to be unique.

This folk dress is one-of-a-kind. Currently I don't plan to redo it. I will advice if I could have the same vintage fabric.

Frequently asked questions about mynoush

I recieved many request for custom clothing orders. Unfortunatly, I can't take custom orders. I do not duplicate sold items, or make two items from different sizes. But, I do shorten straps, take a few inches on the sides to make pants or dresses smaller.
This is a question of organisation and space management.

For hats, I regularly add bunch of new hats so I invite you to come back to see if you can find the color you are searching for.

I do not take custom orders, I do clay once a year in summer. Next dreads beads will come in summer 2016.
I have customers all around the world with different sizing systems. This is why I choose to give key measures of the clothing I make. I could give you an approximation of the US size of cloth, because Im from Canada. But the best way to know if a piece will work for you is to take a similar clothing in your wardrobe and compare its measures to the one in my shop. You can send me your measures, it help. Always remember that you need extra inches to be able to move into a jacket, except for stretch tanks.

If you don't have a ribbon ruler, you can take a piece of thread, yarn of ribbon, non stretch, and report the measure on your flat ruler.
I live in Quebec, Canada. I only work with fiber from canadian farms, trying to encourage local farms as much as possible. I live near a large alpaca farm, so all my alpaca fiber is coming from there. I also work with others canadian farms to work with their fleeces, like angora goats for mohair, and sheeps for lincoln locks, cotswold, corriedale and romney. Im a big fan of textured yarn so I mostly spin directly for the locks to preserve their shape and show their natural beauty. I also dye myself all the yarn.
