Set of two sleek, simple and modern wooden figures. They are not marked, but resemble many of the danish modern figures from Hans Bolling, Kay Bojsesen and Skjode Skern. Both figures feature simple bodies, with attached heads, a single piece of wood representing feet and a single arm. The female figure has one leg and the male's body extends directly to his feet. The male figure has a small leather brim that fits over his wood head so it appears he is wearing a hat. Both arms have a hole in the "hand" which may or may not have held something at some point. Given that the eyes and mouths are also holes, the holes in the hands may also be design elements. Both figures are in very good vintage condition - the wood has a wonderful shiny patina and there are only a few surface scratches here and there. There is also a small discolored area on the back of the male figure. The male stands about 9.75" high and the female is about 8.75" high.
