"“Much as I like owning a Rolls-Royce, I could do without it. What I could not do without is a typewriter..." - John O'Hara

This olive green machine is a gorgeous visible typewriter, manufactured by The Oliver Company between 1919 and 1922. The most unique quality of this machine is the structure - all the keys and hammers are visible as the typing occurs. Upgrading from the previous model (the No. 8), this model featured a right and left shift and a two-color ribbon.

This specific typewriter, serial number 815187, isn't currently in working condition. A handful of the keys stick, which we believe could be fixed with some lubrication Additionally, the string that moves the carriage is missing, so it would need to be replaced and re-strung. However, to someone with a little of typewriter saavy and the desire to fix up this old model, we believe that everything is there that is necessary to become functional. The body shows some wear (fading on the logo, rust spots, etc.) but is in good condition overall. It is missing one key, the "tab" key. The color is fantastic and vivid, and the overall look of the machine is eye catching and industrial.

This piece measures approximately 17" wide x 14" long x 11" tall.

Whether you are looking for an exceptional restoration project or simple want an incredible looking piece of home decor, this typewriter is for you!
