This listing is for ONE Charm Necklace a real Butterfly Wing Charm on an 18" chain.
THIS CHARM Features: Actias Luna (Origin: North America)

Each Charm will come in gift bag with Species ID Butterfly Tag.

100% of all charm sales go to the rear & release program.
In the Fall of 2011 Athenianaire began the task of rearing local North American Moths for release. Currently 4 moth species have been raised and released into the New England area, including Luna and Cercropia Moths and in the spring of 2012 our first caterpillars were born. NONE of the Moths or butterflies Raised by athenianaire are used in her work, ALL are released into the wild. Learn more about this project on Athenianaire's FB Page: www.facebook.com/athenianaire

NEW for 2012!!!!
I have had a lot of requests for a simple charm that can be used on a gift, as a zipper pull, can accent a purse or attach to a charm bracelet. You asked I responded!
Brides can accent Wedding flowers by having a charm attached to the Bouquet!
Top of a special gift with one attached to the bow!

Art for Conservation, I use real butterflywings and butterflies to create these pieces. Please read below on how and why I obtain the preserved butterflies and how I try to help conservation.
The Butterflies used to create these pieces are bred on farms all over the globe including in the countries of southeast Asia, the south pacific, south and Central America. The rearing of these specimens for education, art, inspiration, and export help fund organizations dedicated to protecting the unique environments of the world. The specimens are exported in a preserved manner to generate some of the financial resources required to maintain conserved land.
Not all of the butterflies bred on these farms are sold as specimens many are released into the wild to mate and maintain healthy species populations.
