blank notecard, set of 4, original botanical monoprints

ooak “one of a kind” gelatin mono-printed notes card sets.

I use pressed plants from my garden and ink up a slab of highly concentrated "jello" to create beautiful and delicate botanical studies.

These cards are great as thank you notes from you, or as a gift set for your nature lover.

Each card is a unique monoprint. The actual print covers both the front and back leaving the inside blank. You can view the back and front of one card in the 2nd and 3rd photos. The 4th ans 5th photos show the process.

Note: This is a messy process (why I love it), so please be for-warned that there may be a few ink smudges on the inside of each card. Just please don't do anything with my fingerprints!

The set comes with 4 envelops and is packaged in a clear box.

The process is called gelatin monoprinting. I cooked up a batch of concentrated gelatin, yes “jello” (convoy me if you want the recipe and directions). Once the slab sets you ink it up like any other printing plate and you can take paint away with a brush or block the ink with a stencil (in this case a pressed leaf) for the botanical delight).

Here's a blog some friends and I posted on the process:
