Deborah Blinger was a sucker for anything shiny or dangling so it wasn’t a surprise when she filled up in short order, the little jewelry box that sat on her dresser. There were just too many necklaces, earrings, bracelets and broaches that ‘called her name’ and there definitely was nothing wrong with her hearing. A full jewelry box meant only one thing to Debbie--she needed to buy another one. While strolling down Park Avenue one afternoon, she passed by a small jewelry store, in the window was a beautiful fabric covered box with lace decorated edging that caught her eye. It was the perfect size to fit on her crowded dresser and was lined with a light teal green velvet and a shimmery satiny material.

An hour later Deborah was admiring her new addition that joined the line of other boxes on her dresser. She transferred some of the jewelry that was overflowing from her old boxes into the new one but there was something about the new box that was gnawing at her. She couldn't put her finger on what disturbed her about it. Then the light bulb went off in her head (or more appropriately--the diamond sparkled in her head), she realized what was wrong. There was way too much unused space inside the new box...she needed to fill it with more jewelry.

Here’s a beautiful mid-century jewelry box made of wood and covered with light beige colored fabric with ivory lace trim around the edges. The box is 9.25" (23.5cm) wide, 5.5" (16.5cm) deep and 2.75" (7cm) high. Inside there is one shelf. The shelf and the inside of the lid are lined with a satiny material while the bottom is covered in crushed velvet of matching color. The box stands 8" (20cm) tall when open.

This box is in good vintage condition. The exterior has some light soiling and some and two light indentations on the lid. The hinges work well and the lid stands upright when fully open. The interior lining is very clean and securely attached with a few small pin holes but not stains.
