Original Sun Rubber Co., 1940s-1950s vintage cast iron industrial mold that was used to make a baby doll, child's squeaker toy. This mold is headless, torso only. Acquired from an elderly former employee at the Barberton, Ohio plant who had great stories to tell about working there through World War ll and beyond.

In-mold marked on back (barely legible):
'Sun Rubber Co. Akron Ohio'

Heavy, detailed hollow mold of a chubby baby doll, toddler. Closed bottom with complete feet but there is a hexagonal nut & plug that stick out so mold stands a bit tilted. You can always slide 1/4" thick piece of wood under other foot to display or lean against wall.

6"h to top of flange; 3" sq. plate steel collar

Copper exterior surface.

Excellent condition: No cracks, dings, warping or damage observed. Steel collar has light surface oxidation. A magnet sticks. Not marked.

Intriguing industrial kitsch to display as sculpture, art work alone or in a grouping. Repurpose to make what you will, use in assemblage and mixed media art.
