Johnny Crow's Garden by L. leslie Brooke has been in print since 1903 and for good reason. One look at the formal yet ridiculously silly illustrations and the rollicking, rhyming verse and it is plain to see that this is one for the ages. Jolly good fun. Keep it as a story to read, or repurpose it to take advantage of its gloriously fabulous antique black and white (and a few color) illustrations.
This copy is a small (4" by 5 1/2') hardcover in decent vintage condition. The cover has some shelfwear and bumping and there is a small tear near the middle of the spne (does not in any way affect strength or integrity of spine). There is an area of discoloration near the edge of the front cover and first 4 or 5 pages, becoming progressively smaller and fainter. By the time you reach the pages where the story beings it is gone. All in all a flaw but not a ruinous one. The book does have a musty smell form the previous owner's storage. None of my others do so I take pains to note this if I do run across a title that is.
