I call these sculptures "screen ornaments" because their legs can be hooked onto any window or porch screen. I wouldn't recommend attaching it to a screen door since the frequent opening and closing may cause the little guy to go flying...and this dragonfly has a fear of flying. It can also be hooked over the top of a lampshade, a flower pot, or simply adorn a tabletop.

I give each and every bug a personality of its own. This dragonfly was created using the millefiore technique with polymer clay, wire, and a long screw inside the tail. I made the intricate and colorful wings by building a Stroppel Cane, a wonderful technique developed by Alice Stroppel.

This insect measures approximately 8 inches long by 5 inches wing to wing.

Thank you so much for stopping by my shop.
