Architectural plan of the first floor of the medieval castle Chateau de Pau in France. This steel engraving, from a monthly architectural journal published in Paris (France), 1873, shows the floor plan of the Pau castle as it was at the time of publication.

The Château de Pau (English: Pau Castle) is a castle in the center of Pau, the capital of Pyrénées-Atlantiques and Béarn. King Henry IV of France and Navarre was born here on December 13, 1553.

The château is located in the center of Pau and dominates that quarter of the city. It was once used by Napoleon as a holiday home during his period of power. It has a small garden that was tended by Marie Antoinette when she spent much of the summer in the city.

In great condition. Paper is heavy weight and excellent quality. There is very light foxing in some areas that do not affect the beauty of the plate. Please look at the images carefully.

Size of the image: 11.2 by 7.9 inches
Size of the plate: 13.8 by 10 inches

This is the actual page from a 1873 publication, not a reproduction.
