What a wonderful "Something Old" for your wedding day. Irish Poplin and Linen Lace made into a drawstring pouch, from Dublin, most likely from the earliest 1800's.( Mayor R. Atkinson stopped making women's items by 1900 and was a favorite of Queen Victoria.)
Lined in the very special Irish Poplin and edged in a picot trim with a cotton/linen drawstring cord. This bag was apparently a favorite of the original owner, it shows wear on the inside where the fabric was gathered at the drawstring casing, and there is age discoloration as shown in picture 2.
This antique piece is in very good condition for it's age and is very usable. There are no snags runs or tears in the lace, everything is original with no repairs or replacements. The bag measures 7" x 9" lying flat.
