This is a wood utensil for measuring your coffee or your spices. Shipping on this item is free till the end of August on all orders to the U.S and Canada.. Calibrated to measure 1 tablespoon. Designed to reside right in the can so you need not stumble around at 0 dark thirty looking for it. I make these from small scraps and from rare wood pieces I have collected over the years. The perfect gift for the coffee lover in your life.

Wood species: Crab Apple wood from near Center, Colorado. I get several trees a year when they die or blow over. There is no difference between the wood of Crab Apple and eating Apple but there is quite a lot of difference between different trees. Some are more purple and pink and some are more red and brown. This wood is more purple.
length: 5.5 inches
width: 1.5 inches

This utensil is "pre-washed" so to speak. During the final sanding the grain is raised twice with hot water and then the loose fiber ends are sanded off with a finer grit of sandpaper so that in use the spoon will not get rough. Then it is soaked in a bath of melted beeswax and mineral oil at 160 degrees Fahrenheit.

Care is easy, just wash in hot soapy water and towel dry. Apply some mineral oil or Walnut oil every couple of weeks. Better yet is a mixture of 3 parts mineral oil to one beeswax. Melt them together in a double boiler and pour into a small jar. We usually sell 4 ounce jars but we are out right now. We should have some more soon.
