This is a very tender piece, a miniature Jizo Buddha, a protector for
mothers and children, from Japanese Buddhism.

He is placed in a home as a safeguard for children, and also for pregnant
mothers, and is sometimes used to comfort those who have lost a child.
The woman who gave me this said it is sometimes used in rituals, to
help a woman get over a loss or an abortion.

I am a mold maker for over 25 years, and enjoy making quality
reproductions of Buddhas, Quan Yins, and other items for shrines,
altars, and collections of energy pieces.

This tiny one is 2 1/8 inches tall, and has a faux ivory finish.
