Fabulous curvy cream and sugar set in a lush deep green - another classic design by renowned British pottery, Midwinter, located in Staffordshire, England. Perfect for serving breakfast or afternoon tea and adding a little nostalgia to the kitchen table!

Dating from the 1966, and designed by John Russel, this cream or milk jug and sugar bowl set is part of a range of tableware in Midwinter's Stylecraft Fashion shapes - first introduced in 1954. Roy Midwinter, on a research trip to the West coast of the US, took note of the new modern aesthetic and fluid shapes - less fussy, more streamlined - and brought those ideas back to the UK.

Stylecraft was the first range of table ware in Britain to tap into this new trend and many of Midwinter's designs from the 1950's and 1960's are now highly collectible, as they capture the mood of the time.

W. R. Midwinter Ltd. was founded in 1910, becoming one of the largest potteries in England by the 1930's, with over 700 employees. However, it was in the post-War period under the direction of the founder's son, Roy Midwinter that they became one of the leading innovators in the design and production of kitchen and table ware, with the work of noted designers and ceramicists like Jessie Tait, Terence Conran, Hugh Casson and Peter Scott.
