This pair of vintage vases, made of milk glass with a shell design on one side and beading on the other, are very old and unusual. They are oval pedestal vases (or planters) with scalloped rims. The milk glass is not pure white--one vase has a bluish cast, and the other is somewhat cream colored--and the beading has an iridescent shine. The scalloped rims look bluish and see through, which makes me think this is early milk glass. They're unsigned though, and I'm not certain of the date.

The vases are in fair condition. The darker one has a few stains from serving as a planter (the color probably comes from that as well). The vases have a few small fleabites on the rim; a few small cracks on the rim don't go all the way through and are visible only from the inside; and a few beads on one look chipped, though it could be a manufacturing flaw.

These are not perfect, but the flaws are hard to spot and these would still be lovely on display.

Size: 4 3/8 inches wide x 3 1/8 inches deep x 4 3/4 inches tall (11 x 8 x 12 cm)
