Queen Elizabeth Doll Character

My detailed miniature doll version of Queen Elizabeth I is inspired by her coronation day portrait. She wears a gorgeous, handmade dress in gold accented in red and black jeweled rhinestones. Her gold velvet cloak is edged in faux ermine fur, and her famous red hair is topped by a crown encrusted with rhinestones. A scepter adds the finishing touch. This detail rich miniature stands at 4 1/2 inches tall, (11.4 centimeters).

Born in 1533, Elizabeth I was Queen of England and Ireland from 1558 until her death. Sometimes called the Virgin Queen, Gloriana, or Good Queen Bess, Elizabeth was the fifth and last monarch of the Tudor dynasty. The daughter of Henry VIII, she was born a princess, but her mother, Anne Boleyn, was executed two and a half years after her birth, and Elizabeth was declared illegitimate. Her brother, Edward VI, passed the crown to Lady Jane Grey, cutting his sisters out of the succession. His will was set aside, and in 1558 Elizabeth succeeded Mary I.
