The story: My great grandfather, Papa, lived in Leonard, Texas where he shouted "Christmas Gift" every Christmas of my life. It meant it was time to celebrate the day and open presents. The grandchildren ran to the living room. The Santa Claus sat on the antique piece of furniture in his living room. There is no telling where he got the Santa. It has always been in my family.

The facts: Santa Claus has a red suit with hat and furry beard. The beard has pulled away from his face. He has a white plastic belt, glitter shirt and boots made of white plastic. One white boot has several chips on the bottom. In the back, you will see some red bleeding on the white fur. The paint on his eye brows, mustache and hair has worn off over the years. He is very jolly. The measurements are 16 inches tall and 9 inches wide. His legs and arms are bendable.

HAROLD GALE BEGAN MAKING DISPLAY SANTAS AROUND 1946 AT HIS HOME. THE BUSINESS CONTINUED TO AROUND 1987-1988. THEY USED ONLY THE FINEST MATERIALS WITH LOTS OF HAND WORK IN THE ASSEMBLING PROCESS. THE FIRST YEAR FOR PRODUCTION OF THE SMALLER SANTA'S WAS 1957.
