Vintage Willow Ware by Royal China Eight Butter Plates in Green/White and Pink/White Circa 1940. I found these at a going out of business sale, snapped them up and just grinned.

Blue Willow Ware is the most collected china pattern ever made, the under glaze greatly contributed to it's success. It is very rare to find green and pink willow ware in great shape. The pattern illustrates the famous Chinese myth of the star-crossed lovers on tableware. This pattern mixes and matches nicely with any vintage or contemporary pattern.

The Royal China Company moved from Omaha, Nebraska to Sebring, Ohio in 1933 and began operations in the old E.H.Sebring Pottery Company facility in 1934. They produced a wide variety of semi porcelain dinnerware as well as kitchenware given away as premiums at grocery stores and gas stations.

Royal began producing the Willow pattern in the 1930's, available in blue/white, re/white and gold/white, the pattern was rubber stamped on the pieces. During the 1940's a second version of this pattern was produced, rubber stamping was discarded and transfer ware was created using an under glaze. This version came in blue/white, pink/white, green/white and brown/white.As a general rule the pieces from the 1950's and 1960's that most interest Collectors.

The measurements of the butter dishes are all 6 1/4" in diameter. There are no chips, cracks and all 8 pieces are in remarkable shape.

If you are a Willow aficionado here is a tip to display your pieces, paint the backs of the shelves a contrasting color to make your Collection pop!

Mrs Pattmore of Downton Abbey fame has eye balled this in my Etsy Office and is thinking of Grabbing Dr. Who to talk me out of them.

Listen you two, forget it, sit down and tell me how the filming is going with Season 3. As far as the Dr. he just left for another adventure!.
