This is a rare antique late 30's to early 40's Heddon Crazy Crawler Mouse fishing lure. The lure has the red dot and Heddon Crazy Crawler in red as well, both under the chin. It also has the leather ears still in tact and in great condition! The original eyes and leather tail is still in tact as well...

Heddon is the most collectible of all vintage fishing lures and probably because it was among the most prolific. The company started way back in 1897 and continued under the direction of various Heddon family members until 1955. It has been under many different non-Heddon family ownerships since then and currently is operating in Arkansas. The original James Heddon is often given credit to being the first to create lures out of wood peices or "plugs".

The lure has 2 strong hooks and it is made out of wood. In excellent condition!
