French absinthe spoon in metal. Absinthe was a green alcool widely drank in café until around 1905 when it was forbiden. The spoon, essential for the making of this drink, was placed onto a glass and was holding a piece of sugar, the alcool was into the glass and water from a fontain was slowly pouring onto the sugar making the drink. A kind of ancestor of pastis! It remains a nice and odd looking object that are collected as they had all sort of differents patterns.
It is also an iconic item of french history of café/bistrot. Nice collectible object!
6"2 long, 1"2 wide.
Good used condition.
