Amazingly hip and cool, this pair of mid century shadow boxes are constructed of combed plywood and painted black and red, probably the original paint colors. These pieces are 17 inches long and 14 inches wide. They are 3.5 inches deep. What is cool about them is that there are two hooks on the back, so you can hang them the wide way or the long way. My photos show one box hung the longer, vertical way and the other the wider, horizontal way.

The boxes are stamped on the back "Borin - Chicago IL." Borin was a company that framed a lot of prints in the 1920's, and I guess this is what they were up to in the 1950's.

There are nicks and paint rubbed off around the edges of the pieces and on the inner black frame, and they are a bit dusty. I've tried to dust them, but I will let the new owner decide how to clean them, and whether to repaint them, or try the match the old paint, or to just leave them as-is, because they are in decent and very sturdy condition. They were very well made!

Please convo me with any questions or for more photos or measurements.

Shipping would be via FedEx.
