These are my standard issue bowls that I sell on a regular basis and hand throw on the potters wheel myself. People often use them for cooking and serving, I personally love to use them as cereal bowls. These bowls are roughly 8inches wide and 3.25inches high. I say roughly because while I do strive to keep my functional pieces as uniform as possible they are as I said hand thrown and will have slight variations from pieces to piece.

This particular piece is a wood fired porcelain bowl that was fired for 24 hours in a "train kiln". The gray coloration on this piece makes it rather special. This effect is due to the carbon from the burning of the wood as fuel. When the piece heats up carbon will sometimes be trapped in the clay. The yellow runs on the outside are natural fly ash. The inside of glazed with a temmoku color.

As with all of my work it is dishwasher safe, oven safe, microwave safe, and LEAD FREE. I also make sure to spend time sanding the bottom of my pieces so they will not scratch tables or counters.
