Joan Miro, James Thrall Soby, The Museum of Modern Art, New York, 1959, First Edition, First Print (presumed)

This title bound in light brown cloth with black gilt title on the spine and a black décor on the cover. The Dust Jacket is unclipped and states $8.50. The book is in near fine condition with sharp corners and a bright solid and square text block, the jacket has wear around the perimeter along with some minimal chipping. Overall very nice.

This art book was published concurrently with the Miro exhibition at MOMA in 1959. Paintings were borrowed from many notable art owners including Ernest Hemmingway’s very folksy and surreal painting “The Farm.” The book is filled with Miro’s depictions of freakishly formed beings and non-beings. It is definitely a visually enjoyable feast for the eyes.

Please examine the pictures carefully. I try to photograph all, if any flaws so you don’t have any surprises when you receive your item.
