Perfect for wearing over a pair of tights for some added flair, over your favorite Edwardian or Victorian burlesque outfit to add oomph to your derriere, or New Year's Eve party! It's a fabulous way to keep cool on Playa while still covering your rear. You can also wear it as a fancy shawl. The ruffles are shaped along the hips and bum to give a super-flattering look, and it also means you can wear one of my upcycled inner tube stash belts without covering up much of the ruffles! (https://www.etsy.com/listing/98173901/vegan-the-bat-upcycled-recycled-bicycle).

The base fabric of this skirt is a teal cotton corduroy woven cloth upcycled from a restaurant apron, and the ruffles are made mainly of recycled fabric from dresses that were wasting away on thrift store racks and interior design fabric samples that would have ended up in the landfill. There's cotton, satin, corduroy, organza, and silk, ruffled and pleated, and randomized to give it a more asymmetrical and organic appearance.

The top edge of ruffles is covered in a combo of purple and deep pink silk ribbons I hand-ruffled. A rich, bright pink ribbon stitched with a bright teal zig-zag pattern edges the top hem. It closes with black shoelace ribbons that tie to d-rings and each other for versatility and adjustability from 28" to 60". All edges are serged to prevent any fraying. The skirt is about 17" at its longest point in the back, and where the front portions meet its about 13" long.
This skirt is made with upcycled fabrics--KrakenWhip tries to be eco-friendly and sustainable!

All my creations are made in my apartment in Oakland by myself with the occasional help of friends. No slave labor or outsourcing is used in the making of these pieces. Thank you for your support of hand-made and small businesses! (-:
