The prehistoric style cave art I created on this carved piece of deer antler is based on the rock art found in the Panther Cave of the Lower Pecos River at Lake Amistad here in Texas. For colors I used acrylic paint and soft artist pastels completed with a matte finish. I prefer to use only North American turquoise and the various size nuggets used on this choker come from the Sleeping Beauty, Castle Dome and Campitos mines Other beads include different sizes of bauxite and catlinite heishi, three different shapes of copper beads and 1 inch bone hair pipe beads. The suede leather spacers and end pieces were hand cut to fit this particular choker which is 12 3/4 inches long including the end pieces and 1 1/8 inches wide. The suede leather laces are secured in place with glass crow beads and the antler pendant measures 2 X 1 1/4 inches and extends 4 1/4 inches from the top row of beads This choker is one of a kind and what you see in the photos is the one you will receive.
