I love this ring. There's something so extraordinary about the simplicity of the style that makes it look timeless--or even futuristic. This beautiful 18 karat ring is an early example of the "target" style that became very popular in the later Edwardian/ Art Deco eras, and usually appeared in white gold.

A halo of rich yellow gold surrounds a sparkly rose cut (5mm) diamond as six smaller mine cut diamonds adorn the sides of the band. Rose cut diamonds are cut in this beautiful and unusual way that makes them stand out so much from modern diamonds: they look rough, but also simple and shimmering at the same time. Each diamond is different, and has a personality of its own. The diamonds total .30 carats.

The design is really the special part of the ring: the circle appears once again as it so often does in Victorian jewelry, signifying infinity. This would be such a beautiful engagement ring, and so romantic: your love, the endless circle, can never be broken!

There are no hallmarks on the piece, but it has been acid tested and is 18K gold. It seems like it may have been sized up over the course of its long history and the ring is now just shy of a size 8.
