Ornately decorated cardboard box filled with brass pins from the late 1800s. Known as "Lill" pins, they were used for pinning insects and other specimens for study and display. Truly fascinating!

This is a fragile piece and the paper box is torn and discoloured in spots, but this does not detract from its' beauty. The decoration is truly lovely with gold scrolls, florals, and lettering on a navy background. There is an elephant at the very top of the piece. Intriguing piece for gift giving, or for display.

Box measures: 4 x 2 3/4"
