This journal is inspired by Kerak Castle, one of the largest Crusader Castles ever built (now in the country of Jordan). Kerak was built by Paganus, the Christian Lord of Oultrejordain, in 1140 AD, was lost to Saladin due to treachery in 1189, and remained intermittently in use until the late 19th century.

The journal itself was hand-bound with a soft and smooth black kidskin cover, and closes with a strap of the same black leather. The pages were hand torn and sewn into the cover with black waxed linen thread, using the medieval long stitch. The pages will lay flat with a little use, so you can draw or write all the way into the margins.

Perfect for:
~Anniversary gift
~Wedding guestbook
~Writing your new novel
~Documenting your travels
~A field journal for a naturalist, writer, or artist
~Keeping recipes, tickets, quotes, and memories

320 pages (160 sheets) of white, unlined, acid-free, 50 lb Strathmore drawing paper.

Approximately 9 x 6 inches (23 x 15 cm) in size and about 1 inch (2.5 cm) thick.
