I wanted to make this bohemian dress since a long time ago and I carefully collected everything to construct it. The body of the wedding dress is made from a cotton brocade with light textured pattern and silver accents. This fabric as the hold of a brocade. The lining is made of a repurposed cotton with tiny textured dots, that I dyed very light with tea because even if the brocade appears to be white, it is not completly white. This dress will be soft against the skin and perfect as a beach wedding dress.

Talking about details of this short wedding dress. The hem of this dress took my ages to do, but I want it like this or nothing. I had a silver brocade that I applied over the bottom of the dress. I carefully cutted two dozen of starfish into the bottom of the dress to make starfish holes. Then, I sewn under each starfish two different crochet lace, tea dyed. The result is a very special semi sheer effect that is enhanced by the lining. The large stripe of silver brocade has been meticulously hand frayed on the top and bottom, for a used/worn/aged effect.

The top of the dress that is fitted to the body has been hand folded to create an uneven folds pattern and deepeness. The lace around the top is a delicate scallopped pattern that I dyed with tea to match with others details.

The crazy straps of this dress make me mad. I had a vague idea of starfish sticked together to form collar/straps. I began to make dozen and dozen of starfish of different sizes and shapes. Then, I crocheted them on the edge and it was very too thick, and litterally ugly. I undo the crochet and "simply" stitched freely around the hem of each of them. Uniformity is not my cup of tea. I decide to add different patterns to them, by adding eyelets to a couple of them. Again, too simple. It was lacking of sparkles, so I cutted a hole into a couple of starfish and inserted a silver brocade piece. Not enough, this was lacking of texture and variety of patterns. I finally added a couple of starfish made from a lace leather...on the suede side (I work with pieces repurposed, this was from shoes). I had no idea of how to hold that all together, but I achieved it...the straps are lined with white linen to be soft and smooth against the skin. Buttons were missing...and some lace...so I closed the part between the back straps with crocheted lace, tea dyed. Its a real closure. The buttons are vintage, these are glass buttons with a pearl effect over the top like a multicolored pearl. Those straps killed my hands.

This is my "mad" seamstress dress and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I was thrilled to make it.

I will add a photo of the dress on a real model soon. I plan to do a matching headdress and some cuffs to accessorize it.

I conceived this halter dress to be confortable in summer, it is not fitted and let the wind keep you fresh. Its a long short style, so when you walk it moves beautifully. But, even not fitted it has his part a sexy with is beautiful back cleavage. It would make unique alternative wedding dress.

This dress will fit best on US sizes 6-8-10.

I suggest you to compare the following measures to your actual clothes for a better fit.

Shown on a dress form of 35" bust, 28" waist and 38" hips.

The top of the dress (where there is lace) measures 35.5"
Bust is free
The hips are free
Its length in front is 29" from the neck ; 23" from top to bottom
Its length in back is 41"from neck ; 32" from top to bottom
The halter part that start from the top edge of the top, pass over the neck and join the other top edge measures 22".
The straps from the front edge of the dress to the back edge of the dress measures 17"
Base of the neck on the side to the edge of the strap on the shoulder is 4"
Normally, my dresses are easy to alter, but on this dress adding length will be very tricky and remove length is impossible. I could alter the over bust (top circumference) of the dress to fit smaller sizes. Bigger sizes will be tricky, but ask I will see what I could do.

If you need assistance for fitting, please ask me I'm available to assist you and answer to all you question promptly. I will gladly accept returns and exchanges if it doesn't fit.

Frequently asked questions about mynoush

I recieved many request for custom clothing orders. Unfortunatly, I can't take custom orders. I do not duplicate sold items, or make two items from different sizes. But, I do shorten straps, take a few inches on the sides to make pants or dresses smaller.
This is a question of organisation and space management.

For hats, I regularly add bunch of new hats so I invite you to come back to see if you can find the color you are searching for.

I do not take custom orders, I do clay once a year in summer. Next dreads beads will come in summer 2016.
I have customers all around the world with different sizing systems. This is why I choose to give key measures of the clothing I make. I could give you an approximation of the US size of cloth, because Im from Canada. But the best way to know if a piece will work for you is to take a similar clothing in your wardrobe and compare its measures to the one in my shop. You can send me your measures, it help. Always remember that you need extra inches to be able to move into a jacket, except for stretch tanks.

If you don't have a ribbon ruler, you can take a piece of thread, yarn of ribbon, non stretch, and report the measure on your flat ruler.
I live in Quebec, Canada. I only work with fiber from canadian farms, trying to encourage local farms as much as possible. I live near a large alpaca farm, so all my alpaca fiber is coming from there. I also work with others canadian farms to work with their fleeces, like angora goats for mohair, and sheeps for lincoln locks, cotswold, corriedale and romney. Im a big fan of textured yarn so I mostly spin directly for the locks to preserve their shape and show their natural beauty. I also dye myself all the yarn.
