Interesting old found factory stock pieces. They date to the early 1900s...tin/metal plate covered with a celluloid lithograph. These were used during the turn of the century to decorate boudoir accessories such as boxes, mirror backings, wall art and jewelry. My last picture shows two French fabric boxes accessorized with similar celluloid plates. They are perfect for your altered art projects, to accessorize antique items and would be great framed. This listing is for a lot of 6 plates as pictured. Two feature a French renaissance styled lady portrait reminiscent of Marie Antionette. The other four feature romantic French garden/dance themes. Fine detail and excellent condition with no dents or fading...never used! Some of the backs are printed: "Patent Pending, A. Schiftan, N.Y.". The larges ovals measure 3" by 2". The round plate is 2" and the smaller ovals measure 2 1/2" by 2". Have fun creating with these!
