This vintage camera required me to solve a mystery. The gentleman who built this collection had it listed as "Zeiss?" and you can see the resemblance with the Compur shutter. But the fortunate coincidence of having this camera appear on the page before the Zeiss cameras in my well-used copy of McKeown's Cameras helped me to identify it. As you can see paint has flaked from the metal and the distance scale has been worn away. But the Xenar 13.5cm/f4.5 lens is clean and clear. The shutter and the aperture seem to be working normally. There is a loose spring on the front release arms (the ones you pinch to pull out the camera) but it is hooked to one side and just needs a more delicate touch than mine to hook it to the other. That's a ring attached to the top of the bellows, not a hole -- they look pretty good. The bubble level is still working and the finder is clean and clear. The ground glass is also just fine. When closed, this camera measures about 4 1/2" x 6" x 2" . Wow. Most definitely an unusual find.

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU BUY:
I am helping to find new homes for a huge collection of vintage cameras. As a professional photographer myself, I am really enjoying getting to know some of these strange and wonderful pieces. The gentleman who assembled this collection chose pieces in good shape and gently cleaned them with compressed air and a soft cloth. Many might benefit from your detailed attention but I’ve left them as is rather than risk damaging them in any way. While in most cases I will not be running film through them, I will check to see that the shutter fires, parts move if they are supposed to, and things appear to be as they should be. If I find any problems, I’ll list them in the description and suggest that the item be used only for display or repurposing However, due to their vintage nature, UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED, THESE ITEMS ARE SOLD “AS IS” WITH NO GUARANTEE OF WORKING ORDER AND NO RETURNS ACCEPTED UNLESS ITEM RECEIVED IS NOT AS DESCRIBED. Please convo me with any specific questions and I’ll do my best to get you the info.

SHIPPING: OMG, why is it so much???? I don't hide shipping costs in the item price. I want you to know who's getting the money! Canada is quite a bit higher on postage than the US. So the price listed is for my best estimate at the cost of shipping the single item above with a TRACKABLE method. On the plus side, CanPost shipping is usually safe and relatively fast. BUYING MORE THAN ONE ITEM AT A TIME SAVES YOU MONEY because I’ve become pretty handy at packing lots of stuff safely into one box. I do my best to keep your shipping costs at a minimum. As always, once I do the calculations for your finished package, I happily refund any shipping overpayment greater than $2. I am also happy to work with INTERNATIONAL BUYERS who have a PAYPAL CONFIRMED ADDRESS – please convo me with your shipping address and I’ll give you a shipping cost.

Frequently asked questions about PastAndPresence

I go with things that I like! And I like a lot of different vintage subjects and styles. That's why you never know what will turn up next in the shop.
Once I complete the designs, I send them to a US textile manufacturer for printing and sewing. My files go directly from my attic studio in Warman, Saskatchewan, Canada into their presses -- pretty cool when you think about it. The printed fabric is sewn into the finished product and shipped out directly to you. I do several tests on new designs before I post them here -- if I wouldn't have it in my home, you won't see it in the store.
That watermark makes it more difficult for someone else to copy my designs. I want to be sure that when you purchase something with my work on it, you're getting a quality item that I have approved. You will only find authentic versions of my designs in my store. They are not available elsewhere at this time.
