This 1950s dress is made of unlined linen in a lovely vintage shade of terra cotta (peach-tan). The dress is trimmed with plenty of matching lace. It came from the closet of one of my favorite clothing sources, a woman named Betty who was a manager of a local department store. If you'd like to know more about her, please see my blog about Betty: http://denisebrain.blogspot.com/2011/02/shes-betty.html

As usual with Betty, her clothing has been very well kept, and it's stylish and of good quality. This dress is labeled Carlye. The dress has a wide shawl collar; short, cuffed kimono sleeves; a full skirt and beautiful pearly plastic buttons down the front. There are two wide box pleats in front, and gathers across the back. The pockets have lace edging.

Condition: Very good, with just one flaw: There is mending at the point of one seam at the front of one sleeve, shown in the last photo. You can see the mend, but at least it seems quite secure. The dress has no belt; the hem has been very neatly raised.

Size: XS, about a US size 2

Bust-34"
Waist-25"
Hip-full
Back of neck to waist-15.25"
Waist to hem-24"

Please note: I measure the dimension of the item itself, and you will need to consider what size you would want the item to be to fit well on you.
