JEWELRY YOU CAN READ:
This tiny, wearable book features a salamander guarding an luscious glass fire opal on its cover.

But there's more. Open the book and there's a poem Inside for you to read. The poem is called "Varmints In Weird Garmints". It's about a man with an adversity to diversity who gets his wish, only to regret it.

TECHNICAL STUFF:
The book is made of steel with a gold/ox finish. The other metal elements are brass with a gold/ox finish. The stone set into the salamander is a 5mm amethyst frosted glass cabochon. The glass fire opal is 11mm. The frame is lined with hand painted paper. The poem inside is printed on linen paper. All metal parts are drilled through and riveted together.

VARMINTS IN WEIRD GARMINTS:

Get those melancholy teenagers
who try to look so Goth.
Always lurking in the shadows
dressed like anorexic moths.

Or the ones with all the tattoos
like they've caught some ink disease
Or the ones with all the pierces.
It's so gross! What if they sneeze?

And get those inner city artists
painting flashy trash on walls
with their snapping and their rapping
and their rhyming, taunting calls.

Or the ones from other countries
cooking strange and pungent foods.
Sliding slang into our language
causing strange and brazen moods.

They are varmints in weird garmints!
They offends and they affronts.
They should pack up all their footprints.
They should leave this world at once.
They must climb aboard a rocket ship
a one way trip. Bye bye.
And live on another planet
in the corner of the sky.

Get those coffee drinking Boomers
in their jumbo S.U.V.'s.
Holding meetings on their cell phones
anywhere they please.

Or those outer city hippies
driving bumper sticker vans.
And still living in the 60's
like folk music Peter Pans.

They are varmints in weird garmints!
They affronts and they offends.
They should pack up all their differences.
They should leave this world at instances.
They must climb aboard a rocket ship
a one way trip. Bye bye.
And live on another planet
in the corner of the sky.

I admit I have a vision, but I don't think I'm alone.
I just want everyone around me to fit in my comfort zone.
And, finally I've done it. Yes, I've cleared away the bums.
And it's safe now to go out and survey
what the world's become.

It is boring, boring, boring!
It is humdrum. It is blaaaah.
I'm so bored I may stop dreaming
I must leave this world right now.
I must climb aboard a rocket ship
a desperate trip, bye bye,

And chase after pretty colors
in the corners of the sky.
