This is a Boosey & Co drag horn (fanfare trumpet type horn) with broken off mouthpiece that dates to 1892. It is stamped with the Boosey Trademark and says "Boosey & Co Makers 295 Regent Stt London" followed with serial number 43286. Boosey is well known for its brass instruments, many of which are museum pieces. It measures about 23" long and the bell is around 3.6" in diameter. There are some dents/dings that only add to the rustic appeal. I love the wonderful rich patina!

Note that various size horns exist and a 36" drag horn with serial # 43200 was made in 1892. See: http://homepages.ed.ac.uk/am/gdsj.html and http://www.music.ed.ac.uk/euchmi/bpesy.html for some background information. Thanks for looking!
