I’m dressed in rich toffee-brown reclaimed leather which has been treated with a special protective polish to resurrect its true beauty. Tiny intricate patterns have been hand embossed around my entire perimeter with leather stamping tools. Embellished on my cover flap is a 2 inch wide circular hole which is filled with a beautiful piece of vintage crocheted lace.

Open me up, and you’ll find I begin & end with historical decorative paper featuring large an assortment of vintage postcards & envelopes which has been aged for an added dimension. In between, I am filled with 100 sheets (200 pages counting both sides) of hand-torn 200gsm Toscana watercolor paper made in Germany by Hahnemühle.

Toscana is a mould made natural white, acid-free & age resistant paper which has a rough texture on one side & smooth on the other. Each piece has been richly tea-stained (using an archival process) for an aged effect. This has produced spontaneous results and unique patterns so no two pages are the same. They are the perfect place for your choice of expression: words, images, dreams or sketches.

Each of my olde worldly pages have been individually hand-torn, tea-stained & pressed, before being stitched directly into my coat with natural off-white linen thread. This variation of long stitch binding allows me to lay completely flat when in use.

When not in use, I’ll protect your creations with my long leather wrap tie which secures on my back with a delightful mix of vintage wooden beads. A truly rustic journal with a well worn vintage appearance, I also make a fine shelf ornament.

Measuring 4 ½ x 6 ¼ inches with a 1 ¾ inch-thick spine, I’d make a wonderful travel journal, sketchbook or mobile studio; perfect for urban & country travel.
