This is one of the five Dionne quintuplet dolls. This doll's name is Cecile. She is in her original slip, socks, shoes and cap. She is in wonderful condition. The previous owner wrote in pencil on the bottom of the shoe. Below is a little history of the doll.

Length: Approx. 7 1/2"

The Dion or Dionne quintuplets were born in Canada in 1934, and in '34, a multiple birth of five identical children was very, very unusual. And because they were so unique, the media swarmed the home and wanted to know more information about them. There were newspaper articles. And because there were five, the government felt they should be cared for and they were taken away from their parents.

These dolls were manufactured by a company called Madame Alexander. American company. They're made of composition, which is a material that's durable, but it doesn't last well if there's changes in temperature.

Shipped out next business day and will be insured.
