I've had this beautiful Antique Deco black silk net Tambour Bead Embroidery fragment in my collection for some time. It appears to have been salvaged from a steel blue silk dress with silk fabric remaining on one edge, which has two areas of separation, needing retacking. The beads and embroidery colors are bronze, ice blue, azure, and gold. Bronze metallic thread accents the flowerlike centers. The size and shape of the piece are irregular. It measure 36" long and 19" at the widest point. Many hours of labor must have been spent on this fragile beauty.
