A great collection of wonderful six old vintage books about dogs! In lovely faded pastel and neutral tones deep aqua, yellow red and pastel pink and blue tones. For people who love books and dogs-- a unique collection of fiction with dog heros and beloved companions. These books date from 1900 to 1954.

This is a collection of rough, worn and weathered very sweet vintage children's books about dogs. Rab, Derry, Bob (Son of Battle) Boru and Rusty are all the dog protagonists of this endearing group of books. A dog lover will find these compelling despite their having been heavily used. No doubt they were loved. A few have the most wonderful pencilled illustrations in vintage styles one doesn't ever see today. A great group of dog books. Details on condition are below.

Rab and His Friends by John Brown, MD. Donohue Heneberry & Co, Chicago. Undated. Circa 1900. A charming little book of short stories focusing on dogs. Condition is rough. Covers have wear and staining, pages and endpapers are both stained and toned. Binding is whole and complete but has considerable give; pages open widely. An original Christmas gift inscription dated "1900" on front free endpaper.

Derry: Airedale of the Frontier by Hubert Evans. Grosset & Dunlap. NY, CIrca 1928. Condition is rough. Covers have wear and staining, pages and endpapers are both stained, faded and toned. Binding is whole and complete but has considerable give; pages open widely. Original owner's name "ROSE" is written twice in pen: on front endpaper and on lower page edges.

Bob: Son of Battle by Alfred Olivant. Doubleday, McClure & Co., 1901. This is a very worn book with a wonderful illustrated label with a great dog drawing. Condition: Cloth covers have much weathering and wear. Front hinge is partially cracked and endpapers have foxing (oxidation spots). Paper label is toned and foxed.

Boru: The Story of an Irish Wolfhound by J. Allen Dunn. Illustrations by Edwin Megargee. Dodd, Mead & co. NY. 1956. A Worn old Ex-library book tha twas obviously read and loved by many child-readers. Condition: Rough: Cloth covers have much weathering and wear. Front hinge is partially cracked and endpapers have foxing (oxidation spots).

Rusty: A Cocker Spaniel by Co. S.P. Meek. Illustrated by Jacob BAtes Abbott. Grosset & Dunlap, NY. Undated. Circa 1954. Condition: Covers are clean with minimal wear. Original childowner's name and date in blue pen on front free endpaper. Otherwise, clean, tight and unmarked.
