The legend of the Dream Catcher is that it captures the bad Spirits and filters them through its protective web.
Protecting us from evil and letting through only the good dreams, it is believed that each carefully woven web will catch bad spirit dreams in the web and disappear by perishing with the first light of the morning sun.
Its origin is from the Ojibwa Chippewa tribe, where they believed that good spirit dreams would find their way to the center and float down the sacred feather.
The Ojibwa Tribes also believed that the Dream Catcher was not only for dreams, but a medicine wheel as well.

This necklace is GhostShip's modern interpretation of the traditional Dream Catcher.

Made entirely from scratch, I've wirewrapped the 'web' and have enclosed a genuine piece of gorgeous vintage seaglass as it's centre.
Sea glass usually comes from old vintage glass medicine jars and spirit bottles tossed overboard by fishermen decades ago.
Natural sea glass can only be weathered by time, sand and tide - man's folly turned into nature's beauty.

This rare piece is a beautifully frosted cobalt blue colour, nestled and protected within the silver circle. Cobalt pieces are particularly rare, as vintage bottles this colour were typically Vicks VapoRub jars and Milk of Magnesia bottles, both out of circulation.
I've adorned two matching sparkly swarovski crystals and a central feather to complete this sacred necklace.

Strung from an 18" 925 sterling silver necklace, this Dream Catcher will catch many eyes on your neckline.

May you have a happy, dreamful life with this necklace.
