Here's another in my popular table top cemetery series. This one features the burial grounds of the Dark Fae. I've taken a shallow box painted it black and added a quote from the poet William Collins on front, "By fairy hands their knell is rung / By forms unseen their dirge is sung." The paper has been inked and torn for an aged distressed look. The box has four skull legs. The cemetery features a large tree I made from clay and wire with moss "leaves". The Dark Fae prey upon unwary humans wandering in their woods you can see what happens to them from the skull mobile hanging off the tree. I made four gravestones each one made to look like natural rocks used for gravestones. In one I incorporated a skull, two have "R I P" carved into them, and one has a skull carved into it. I also made a black and silver mushroom and four toadstools. One of which has a bite taken out of it and you can see the blood red insides. In the moss are different flowers including one with a skull in the center. There is also a small rock with a shimmery finish. On top of the rock are two fairy wings painted an iridescent green. Much like the human custom of cutting off your hair to mourn the loss of a loved one the Dark Fae will cut off their wings when their mate dies. You can still see the dried blood on the edge of the wings and the rock. I created an uneven base to look like natural terrain, painted it a dark earth brown, and covered it with moss. I gave all the clay elements a final coat of shimmery paint to further enhance the fairy look. This unique OOAK fairy cemetery will look great displayed on any table or shelf. You can even display it on your desk to give your office a bit of dark fantasy charm.
