I tumbled this gemstone from raw crushed rock. After the 4 week process, the result was this vibrant cobalt blue oval pendant. I drilled a small hole in order to add a gold plate bail.

*Length: 4.5cm (approximately 1.75in, including the bail)

*Width: 2.2cm (approximately 7/8in at the widest point)

*Color: blue with gold pyrite inclusions and white marble striations

Lapis Lazuli has a storied history that dates back more than 5000 years. It was mined in a remote area of Afghanistan and is one of the earliest known gemstones used in jewelry. Prized by many ancient cultures for its magical qualities, the gemstone is found in many archeological sites around the Mediterranean.

Prior to 1834 when a synthetic form became available, lapis lazuli was used by the Old Masters and is used today for restoration work.

This pendant will garner lots of attention, and you can delight admirers with its story.
