If you've ever tried to braid a rug with your bare hands -- and ladies, you know who you are -- the Braid-Aid will bring well-earned relief to your tired fingers. Manufactured by the eponymous Braid-Aid Company of Kingston, Mass., the Braid-Aid includes three metal cones that may also work as cake decorating tips or guitar fingerpicks. It comes with no instructions; apparently their use would be self-evident to the veteran rug braider. As the technology has likely changed little over the decades, today's rug braiders may enjoy feeding their rags into this patented example of American ingenuity.

Dimensions: Box is 3.25" L x 2" W x 1.25" H. Each cone is 1.5" H x 1" W

Condition: Cones show no evidence of wear. Box is vintage intact, some discoloration and pencil markings on top, as shown.
