This Tibetan-style support spindle weighs 1 1/2 ounces, and is 11 3/8" long. My husband makes these on our mini-lathe, and they're finished with Danish oil and friction polish on the lathe. This is made from a Ziricote shaft, and a pink ivory whorl, and has a 16+ second spin with a single "flick" of your spinning hand - it's a smooth spinner, and fast! The shaft has minimal grooving at the tip, in case you like to use a half-hitch, but the minimal depth of the grooves allows for traditional spinning styles, as well, where the yarn is allowed to flip off of the spindle's tip.

Ziricote is a more rare exotic wood, and takes on a wonderful polish on the lathe - it's also hard enough, yet not brittle, so it allows for refinement of the spindle's tips.

All spindles are made and stored in a smoke-free environment. 100% guarantee!
