An antique Gothic Revival stained glass fragment of a boy / angel playing a horn, from a church stained glass window, c.1880s.

The glass is beautifully worked by a stained glass artisan using white, grey, gold, yellow and brown glazes). Skill is seen in the painting of the robe and the sensitivity of the face; the folds are wonderfully rendered. Details have been applied using sgraffito and a wide range of brush marks. The piece has the feeling of having been lovingly hand made.

The beauty of this piece is in its simplity and purity. It is beautifully illuminated by half-light, as well as full light ~ as you can see, the light seems to eminate from the piece itself.
The piece measures 5 by 7 inches.
There are no chips or cracks, it is in excellent condition.

A beautiful and unique piece of architectural history to add to your display or collection, or a wonderful gift for lovers of historic one of a kinds.
