♛The Details

A soft vintage late 1950s, early 1960s cotton blend dress in a sweet print of cocoa, olive green, orange, fawn, and ivory mod flowers. These are great colors for anyone with warm or red tones to their hair. Simple fit and flare shape; add a sweater and tights as the weather turns crisp. Back metal zipper and a neck button to close.

Home-sewn, so you know there's no other like it.

Shown in some images with our crinoline to display the fullness of the skirt, not included. We offer the same crinoline in our store separately.

All accessories (belts, jewelry, crinolines, pins, etc.) are for style inspiration only unless indicated.

♛The Measurements

About a modern size L
Bust (underarm to underarm, measured flat then doubled) 41"
Waist: 31"/tight 32"
Hips: Full/Free.
Length of bodice, shoulder to waist seam: 16 1/4"
Skirt, waist to hem: 24 1/4"

♛The Condition

Good vintage shape. I couldn't find any blatant flaws or issues, though it's not perfect and is sold as-is. The fabric is free of stains, pilling, or problems, but does have mild wash fade. The back keyhole appears to be an alteration by a past owner, and the bottom of the metal zipper was sewn shut to prevent over-zipping; it appears these changes were made to salvage the original metal zipper that had lost teeth at the bottom. It works fine and isn't seen when worn, but you should be aware. Not for the perfectionist, just a great little knockabout vintage dress that you can wear without guilt.

Frequently asked questions about jumblelaya

Sorry, each garment in our shop is authentic vintage, dating from between 20 to 80 years old. We generally only have the one piece shown. We do not sew these items ourselves.

If you love it and it fits, consider buying it, since it's unlikely you'll find it again easily.
If it's older than, say, 1964 OR if you feel it fits our shop's aesthetic, absolutely! We pay fairly, generally 1/3 of retail, sometimes even more. Shoot us a note or set up an appointment to sell if you are in the Portland, OR metroplex!
Sure do! Convo us for an info sheet about it.
We do not have a brick-and-mortar shop, but we do have a private studio located on the banks of the Columbia River, directly across the river from Portland, OR. We offer LIMITED appointments currently, due to time constraints. But if you are serious about a piece or pieces you see, let us know and we'll set something up. Shop inventory is generally not kept in the studio, so you'll need to let us know ahead of time which garments you'd like to see in person.
