This stunning bracelet was made in Italy around 1905-10 for visiting tourists as a souvenir from the romantic city of Venice in Northern Italy. Venice was famous for high quality glass that had been produced for centuries on the nearby island of Murano. Highly detailed glass micro mosaic jewellery became very popular from the early 19th century onwards and can be found in brooches, bracelets, rings, pendants and earrings.

This pretty bracelet is decorated with tiny brightly coloured glass pieces that make up a design in micro mosaic. The five bracelet panels feature pretty fire red and pale blue glass roses. There are horseshoe shaped ends to each panel that contain palm leaf shapes and the panels are set into curved goldtone metal mounts that have decorative raised dot edges. The panels are joined together with oval metal loops and the bracelet fastens with a bar hook and oval loop.

Lovely condition with a couple of almost unnoticeable tiny missing glass pieces at the far corners. The silver wash has worn on the back of the metal panels - this is consistant with age and use and is not visible when the bracelet is worn. A super piece!

length 7.5 inches (190mm) maximum when flat
width 0.7 inches (16mm)
