This is a really beautiful, handmade fabric water buffalo.
Based on the embroidery style including mirrors, silver thread, abstract designs, and that it is some type of bull or water buffalo, I believe that this piece is from Tibet or India.

The main body of the animal is indigo blue, which has gotten very faded by the sun to a gray-blue color. The primary colors used in the embroidery are pink, green, orange, and purple. It has small round mirrors used for the eyes and throughout the embroidery design. I have not way to know how old this is, but I would estimate that it is from sometime between the 1950s and 1980s. My grandfather brought back fabric like this when he was working in India in the 50s.

Dimensions: 10" high at highest point on back x 11" long x 5" wide
