A J.Chein Globe Bank made from stamped and lithographed tin. It dates anywhere from 1922-1928 according to country names on the globe. I was told it was from 1924.

Founded by Julius Chein in a loft in New York City, Chein's earliest toy production was a line of premiums for the Cracker Jacks snack line. (wikipedia).

This globe comes from a very large collection of tin and cast iron banks, which was broken up after the collector pasted away. One globe in the collection was actually signed by Julius Chein on the base, when the collector met him!

Considering its age, the bank is in good condition, with the original metal stopper. many pieces have cork replacements or no stopper at all. some rust spots and a few small dents, see all photos. A nice patina from age. Since these globe were played with, then thrown out, many from the 1920's don't exist anymore. A very rare item indeed.
